Activity Title: Veterinary Clinic
Age Group: Pre-school (3–5 years)
Intent:
Children will play pretend vet by caring for stuffed animals, which supports communication, cooperation, imagination, and problem-solving and help teach empathy and responsibility. Through this activity, children can take on different roles like Veterinarian that looks and treat the animals, Veterinary Assistant by helps the veterinarian, weighting the animals and getting the right tools out, Receptionist by answers phones, books appointments, and greets visitors, Pet Owner by brings animals to the clinic and explains their needs.
Materials:
- Stuffed animals
- Toy stethoscope
- Toy medical kit
- Bandages
- Clipboard and paper
- Animal carriers (optional)
- Clean-up bin
How to do it:
Set up a veterinary clinic for the children by having books about the clinic, information around the room about different animals, and a sign with an open-ended question like, “What do you think the animal is trying to tell us?” This will help encourage children to think about health issues and the animal’s emotions, such as nervousness, fear, happiness, or excitement that the animal might be going through and could maybe connected to what they are going through. Additionally, create a designated area where animals can receive check-ups by providing vet supplies and a table so children can examine and care for the animals. They can write notes about their observations and provide care based on their own ideas and thoughts.
Dramatic Play Activity 2
Activity Title: Grocery Store
Age Group: Preschool (3–5 years)
Intent:
Children will be imagination play while at the grocery store and developing communication skills by talking to each other at the cashier , math skills by counting money, literacy by writing and reading the grocery list. Children will explore real life experience by being different roles.

How to do it:
Set up a grocery store with shelves, food, and checkout. Can make the shelves and checkout out of cardboard boxes, food and money out of paper. have an invite sign saying What do you need to buy today?. Have children play different roles like cashier, shopper, worker. encourage children to that are role playing shopper to write a grocery list and select items, have the cashier to work on counting money and making name tags for the workers. let the play be child- led and following the children new ideas by adding new roles or products. I would also asked open- ended questions like what did you decide to put in the cart today, what could you add to make the grocery store.
Dramatic Play Activity 3
Activity Title: Camping Adventure
Age Group: School Age (6–12 years)
Intent:
Children will work together, problem solving, communication, and outdoor exploration through dramatic play. Children will experience creating a camping adventure while developing leadership and social skills.
Materials:
- Tents or blankets and chairs to build a tent
- Sleeping bags and pillows
- Flashlights
- Stuffed animals
- Binoculars
- Maps and compasses
- Toy campfire or making one with sticks and tissue paper
- Cooking pots and pans and play food
- Nature items (pinecones, sticks, rocks, leaves)
- Clipboards, paper, and pencil
How to do it:
Have the children set up their own campsite by having a tent, campfire, water for swimming and fishing. Have a inviting question like what kind of animals will do you think you see while camping. Have different roles like campers, park rangers, hikers, and wildlife explorer. Have children plan hikes on paper, cook on the fire, have stuffed animals to find will camping. Having it child-led by following their ideas of new adventures.
Dramatic Play Activity 4
Activity Title: Family Home Play
Age Group: Toddler (18 months– 2.5 years)
Intent:
Have children to explore family routines through pretend play while developing language, social- emotional skills.
Materials:
- Play Kitchen
- Baby dolls and dolls clothes
- Doll stroller and crib
- Toy dishes, pots, spoons, fork, and knives
- stuffed animals as pets
- Blankets and pillows
- Toy phone
- Table and chairs
How to do it:
Set up a family home area and have children play different roles like mom, dad, brother, baby, sister, guest, family friend. Let children explore with baby dolls, preparing food to feed to the family, cleaning the house, tucking their baby dolls into bed, Following the children led bye going with their interest by taking to them and asking open-ended questions like can you tell me about your home.
